Paul M. Young is the Director of the U.S. Geological Survey’s (USGS) National Civil Applications Center which provides classified and commercial remote sensing and geospatial analysis to the Federal civil community. From 2010 to 2016 he served as the USGS Deputy Associate Director for the Energy and Minerals
and the Environmental Health Mission Areas. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography/Cartography and a Masters of Arts degree in Geography. For over 20 years, Paul has taught continuing education and graduate level GIS courses at Northern Virginia Community College, the University of Maryland-Baltimore County, and George Mason University.
